YouTube TV Reaches Deal to Re-establish Access to- Disney Channels

If a user uses YouTube TV, the user can have access to ‘Disney’ content such as ESPN, National Geographic, FX, and ABC again.

 

On Sunday, YouTube TV declared that they have reached an agreement with Disney to re-establish access to those channels and said they have failed to complete a deal last week.

 

The cost of the content will return to $64.99 every month, but yet all the affected individuals will receive one time discount of $15.

 

TODAY, Disney said in a statement, that “We appreciate the co-operation of Google to reach satisfying terms that are compatible with the market, and we are excited that strong and powerful lineup of live sports and the news plus kids, general entertainment programming, and family program is in process of being re-established to subscribers of YouTube TV around the country”.

 

All the previous recordings on Disney in the YouTube TV library of the user will be re-installed and the user’s local ABC station will be once again available.

 

YouTube TV addressed users, that user subscribers who were affected and have already initiated the process of cancellation, then also the company will honor them the credit of one time $15 on their bills, only if they restart or renew their membership before losing access. 

 

If the user goes to tv.youtube.com/membership and then clicks “Add”, then the user will return to the Base Plan of their membership.

Users can see a price of $64.99 on the re-activation of their membership, but a one-time discount will be returned in the user’s next bill.

 

Throughout last weekend, the two companies were negotiating a new agreement and the Disney addressed today to the USA, that it was “cheerful” and a deal could be reached soon. But the break occurred as challenge football bowl season was heating up with many scheduled games to be broadcasted on ESPN, ABC, and ESPN-2.

 

While the Disney channels were off the platform, during the time the service decreased its monthly price from $64.99 to $49.99 by $15. The overall list of channels removed from the platform of YouTube involves National Geographic, SEC Network, and Disney Channel.

 

In a very short time period, the two streaming blockbusters have resolved their differences, but yet the customers convey their frustration on Twitter.

 

Brian Prescott, a Twitter user said that “the damage was done and is irreparable but I can’t trust YouTube TV to work out on anything in an appropriate, ate manner in order to avoid disruptions.”

 

However, the users have pointed out that, it’s ok with disruptions that take place when the companies are negotiating again with the contracts. 

 

Twitter user, Whitney Lucas said that “These disputes take place with every provider and this will continue as content/channel providers wanted to change a complete lot of money, whenever the contract expires.”
